Samuel Lechasseur - Biography Guitarist, composer, and educator Samuel Lechasseur was introduced to music and the guitar as a teenager. Currently based in Montreal, he studied at Cégep d'Alma (Professional Music and Song Technique), Université de Montréal (Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance), and recently completed a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance at McGill University (2023), where he had the opportunity to study with Carlos Jimenez and Jean-Nicolas Trottier. He is an active guitarist on the Montreal jazz scene and is also passionate about teaching guitar and music alongside his career as a musician and composer. He offers personalized guitar lessons that focus on jazz theory, improvisation, and developing each student's unique musical voice. Samuel has played at the Festival Jazz&Blues de Saguenay, the JazzFest des jeunes du Québec. He also played in several jazz clubs in Montreal and in the rest of Quebec with his trio, his quartet, quintet or with other musician's groups. Samuel had the opportunity to perform with Montreal trumpet legend Kevin Dean for the Kevin Dean and Friends series and has shared the stage with many renowned artists. He is currently working on various musical projects as a leader and accompanist (Cameron Milligan Ensemble and Jeremy Leon Quintet, among others).
